through the anthroscope

kb and i sometimes talk about the role of media in anthropology and how worlds and identities are created through alternative representations.

i saw this clip by keaton henson a while back, and i can't decide if it's the song or the puppetry that has made it stick with me.

it's strange and mildly disturbing to think of the depression and despair through the eyes of a puppet, but at the same time it gives us a new way to think and talk about the human conditions that we all experience.

which is, of course, what anthropology is all about.
